Crappy Graphs!

Sorry, wasn't necessarily trying to grab your attention there -- that just happens to be the name of this cool site that my sister just showed me -- crappygraphs.com -- so I wanted to recommend it to everyone. It reminds me of some stuff I've seen on this Comedy Central show, Important Things With Demetri Martin. If you check the show's site, there's a feature called "Daily Picture" which includes graphs on topics such as "Times People Pray", "Awkwardness" and my favorite, "Frequency Urinate Not In Bathroom"[sic].

If you need inspiration to make your own crappy graph, check the Demitri site (there are scroll arrows below the Daily Picture graphic). If you already have an inspired graph idea, throw it together in crappygraphs and post a link to it on the message board - I've created a seperate thread so you can copy/paste your own in there and everyone else's will be there for you to critique. Then we'll set up a poll on the main blog page so we can vote on the best one. Look for that in the coming week.

I think my graph will have a Pulaski theme to it...

  1. I have to give credit for the introduction to Crappy Graphs to a presenter I saw at the ICE conference last week (IL Computing Educators).

The presenter's name is Steve Dembo- he's an edtech guru. He showed a bunch of fun Web 2.0 tools that can be used in the classroom.

By the way, if you're technology-oriented I highly recommend getting involved with ICE-CAP (the Chicago chapter of ICE). They hold monthly meetings at CPS sites on technology topics.
