Mark "A" in your booklet for "Are You Kidding Me?"

Ah yes, the signs are everywhere that Spring is nearly upon us: the first 60-degree days of the season, the cubs and sox on WGN, and ....Standardized Testing. A time of great stress for students and teachers alike, especially when ISAT screws up the test booklets in in six different places!

  1. Yes I know! I am administering the test this week. We got a correction email the day after the test was started. One of the mistakes is a spelling error...instead of 'health' was written 'heath'. Does the state not have proofreaders? There were also omitted directions for the ELP modifications and incorrect page numbers in the directions. "Turn to page 72' was supposed to be "Turn to page 85"...stuff like that.

This added exponentially to the stress level of the teachers and students.

  2. Yeah, it's scary to think of how many $100k+/year a-holes (proofreaders or not) are getting paid to make sure everything runs smoothly and yet, this happens. Especially after the fiasco of a few years ago when the tests were returned something like 4 months late.
